Hi everyone, it’s Alex! I want to tell you all about the amazing day I had at Winsport Sledge Hockey in Calgary. If you don’t know what sledge hockey is, it’s a super cool sport where you sit on a sled with blades and use sticks to move around on the ice. It’s made for people like me who need a little extra help to play hockey. And guess what? It’s just as fast and exciting as regular hockey!
When I got to the rink, I was so excited! I got to meet some really nice people who showed me how to use the sled and the sticks. At first, it was a bit tricky, but once I got the hang of it, I was flying across the ice! It felt so good to be out there playing a sport, just like everybody else.
One of my favourite parts of the day was feeling the speed on the ice. It was so much fun going fast and trying to hit the puck! I even got to play a mini-game with some other players, and we all had a blast.
Being able to play sledge hockey made me feel so free and powerful. I love how sports can bring everyone together, no matter what challenges we have. Winsport does an amazing job of making sure everyone gets a chance to play, and I’m so grateful for that.
