The Alex Scoop Fitness
Hi everyone! My name is Alex, and despite having cerebral palsy, I’m a fitness enthusiast. I’m excited to share my regular workout routine with you all through “Alex Scoop Fitness.”
My regimen includes both stretching and strengthening exercises. Staying active is a vital part of my life, and I’m passionate about inspiring others to join me on this fitness journey.
Go to my Youtube videos, and let’s get stronger together!

Rock Climbing
“Climbing has taught me to push my limits and reach new heights. It is challenging and a perfect place to meet new friends. I love it! It’s fun to know that I can do something that other people also really enjoy. You can give it a “go” at the MRU Climbing Wall. They offer adapted climbing equipment”
Horseback Riding
“Horseback riding has been amazing for me. I feel the stretching in my adductors plus I strengthen my core muscles while holding the reins. Riding helps me sit taller and reminds me to lift my head up. The connection with the horse I ride at Prairie Sky Therapeutic Horseback Riding, Rocky, is really special. And he likes to cuddle with me. It’s not just about riding; it’s therapy, confidence-building, and fun! Give it a try, and feel horse magic for yourself!”
Workout
“Gym exercises are my go-to for building strength, flexibility, and endurance. Whether it’s lifting weights, core workouts, or a bit of cardio, every session pushes me a step closer to my fitness goals. Remember, it’s not about how heavy you lift, but how consistent you are. Let’s keep moving and stay strong together!”
Walking
“I want to talk about using my Trexo walker. It’s not just something I use to walk—it shows how strong and independent I am. Every step I take is a big win for me. It shows that with some help and the right tools, we can do hard things. I use my walker everywhere, like in the park or at the mall. It lets me go places and see things. Let’s be proud of every step we take!”
Water Skiing
“I tried adapted water skiing, and it’s so much fun! With some special gear, I can ski on water just like anyone else. It feels great to zoom over the water and feel the wind. It’s another cool way to show that we can do anything we set our minds to. If you can, give it a try. It’s a blast!”
Swimming
“I love to go swimming because it improves my fitness, it keeps me active and gives me independence in the water. It makes me happy to swim and when I am swimming it makes me feel like a regular person who can swim in the water”.
Dancing
“I love dance because it can make me feel independent and it also gives me the chance to spend time with friends. I am happy that I have the talent to dance, it makes me feel happy that I can dance in my own unique way.”
Biking
“I have an adapted bike. Riding my bike makes me feel independent and it has improved my fitness. Since doing the Trexo study, I am 8 seconds faster on my bike going around the MRU track and my neighbourhood.”.
Power Chair Hockey
“I love playing power chair hockey and I can be on a team with other power chair hockey players who use power chairs. Power chair hockey is a sport where people who cannot play hockey can play.”
Sledding
“Sledding is great because it allows me to get outside, it’s fun and it is my favourite activity in the winter. You can rent adapted sleds from CP Kids in Calgary.”.
