I was asked by CP Kids and Families to say thank you to a group called 100 Women Who Care for their donation. This is an organization that helps local charities by nominating them to receive $10,000+ from its caring members.
I talked to them about how the money will benefit CP Kids and how CP Kids has been there for me. I shared a little about my life and how getting an adapted bike has changed things for me. I named my bike Gwen Stefani after my favourite singer!
I really enjoyed meeting some of the members and chatting about the support me and my family has received from CP Kids. One of the people I met was Billie Jo from Star 95.9 radio. I told her about my bike’s name, and she promised to play my favorite song, “Let Me Reintroduce Myself”, on the radio. And she did! That made me happy.
I hope to go to another 100 Women Who Care meeting. I liked learning about other groups in Calgary that help people and need support.
