This is a little story about how I got inspired to play hockey. One night, I was watching my favourite tv show called “Battle of the Blades” and 2 female hockey players were competing, Amanda Kessel and Natalie Spooner. They inspired me to want to play hockey so I started playing Powerchair hockey on the driveway. Later a work-friend told my mom about Volt Hockey, which would let me play with my friends.
Volt hockey is a game where players of any ability drive go-karts with a hockey stick attached to the front and instead of a puck you use a ball. It came from Denmark and was invented in (YEAR). I love to play volt hockey because it is the only sport I can do totally independently.
I even got the chance to play in a volt hockey tournament. My team came second! We all got medals and it was so encouraging to be able to play independently on a real hockey team. You can check out volt hockey and anyone can try it.
