I recently got the opportunity to be selected to be in a trial of a trexo also known as an exoskeleton. The trexo is a robot attached to a walker. I also have a regular walker but my regular walker is hard to push if I’m not on smooth, flat surfaces.
I’m hoping that by using the trexo it makes walking easier and I become stronger but the best part about using the trexo is I can walk independently and I can take more steps than I usually would, in my regular walker. In 1 hour I took 1000 steps in the Trexo. If I am selected to borrow this trexo I might be able to try it at home for 3 months.
I’ll take lots of videos and pictures if I get to borrow it. I hope to walk down my street in the trexo and surprise my neighbours. Being a part of the study has helped me reconnect with some old friends which has been really nice.
