Yesterday, I had an awesome opportunity! I got to be part of Patient & Family-Centered Care Week at the Alberta Children’s Hospital.

Patient & Family-Centered Care Week is all about celebrating the amazing people who make the hospital such an special place. During my walkabout, I had the chance to personally thank the dedicated staff, doctors, and volunteers who pour their hearts into caring for patients and their families.

One of the highlights of the day was when I was handing out candy. It may seem like a small gesture, but it was a way of expressing just how much we appreciate their hard work. These individuals don’t just provide medical care; they also offer comfort and support during some of life’s most challenging moments.

The Alberta Children’s Hospital isn’t just a place for medical treatment; it’s a place of healing, hope, and compassion. None of this would be possible without the incredible people who dedicate themselves to this noble cause.

Patient & Family-Centered Care Week reminds us that healthcare goes beyond prescriptions and checkups; it’s about taking care of the whole person and their loved ones. It’s about providing reassurance and support during difficult times.

Thank you for making a difference, one patient and one family at a time.
