I had a really great time visiting the seniors at Age Care Seniors Community. I was invited as a guest speaker in Calgary to share my life story as someone living with cerebral palsy, and I felt very grateful to be there.

I talked about some of the challenges I have faced in my life and how I keep trying, even when things are hard. The seniors were very kind and interested in my story. They asked questions and shared their own experiences too, which made the visit feel very special and personal.

One of the best parts of the visit was showing them my Trexo robotic walking device. They loved seeing me walk in it and were very curious about how it works. It felt good to show them that there are different ways to move and stay active.

I also made a seated workout video for them before my visit. While I was there, we did the workout together. We used water bottles as weights and squishy balls for some of the exercises. It was simple, fun, and everyone joined in. I think they really enjoyed moving their bodies together.

If you want to try the seated workout, you can watch the video here:

I hope I can go back and speak to them again one day. I shared how important it is to stay active at any age and with any ability. You don’t have to do a lot. Even small movements are good for your body and your mind.

Thank you to Age Care Seniors Community for inviting me as a guest speaker in Calgary

It meant a lot to be able to share my story and spend time with such a lovely group of people.
