I got to go back to the Alberta Children’s Hospital again this year for Patient & Family-Centred Care Week 💙

It was so special to walk around, say thank you, and hand out treats to the amazing staff who make the hospital feel like a place of care and kindness — not just medicine. These people support families when things are hard, and I’m really grateful for everything they do. After my walkabout, I got my Trexo steps in — perfect day!

care weekIn November 2023 I got to be part of Patient & Family-Centered Care Week at the Alberta Children’s Hospital.

Patient & Family-Centered Care Week is all about celebrating the amazing people who make the hospital such an special place. During my walkabout, I had the chance to personally thank the dedicated staff, doctors, and volunteers who pour their hearts into caring for patients and their families.

One of the highlights of the day was when I was handing out candy. It may seem like a small gesture, but it was a way of expressing just how much we appreciate their hard work. These individuals don’t just provide medical care; they also offer comfort and support during some of life’s most challenging moments.

The Alberta Children’s Hospital isn’t just a place for medical treatment; it’s a place of healing, hope, and compassion. None of this would be possible without the incredible people who dedicate themselves to this noble cause.

Patient & Family-Centered Care Week reminds us that healthcare goes beyond prescriptions and checkups; it’s about taking care of the whole person and their loved ones. It’s about providing reassurance and support during difficult times.

Thank you for making a difference, one patient and one family at a time.
