Hi Guys, it’s Alex,

I am so excited to share some big news with you!

I was asked by The Health and Physical Education  Council of the Alberta Teachers’ Association (HPEC) to be featured on the cover of their newly renamed Activate Journal and of course I said YES! I am so honoured to be included as it makes me feel like I have a voice to speak about physical literacy for people with disabilities.

This is what the Activate editor said about me in the introduction:

The cover of this issue is also extra special. It features Alex, a student at Mount Royal University, in Calgary. One of Alex’s goals is to support the physical literacy journeys of people with disabilities. Her personal statements include “I can do it,” “I can do anything, just in my own unique way” and “I can do anything, even though I’m in a wheelchair.” Alex is truly a champion of physical literacy who inspires all those around her. I am so thankful I had the opportunity to be part of this to encourage all people to be physically active. We can all ACTIVATE!

Here is the link to the latest issue of ACTIVATE which covers Inclusive Physical Education and Wellness, Unlocking the Potential of Physical Education and Traditional Indigenous Games.
